Products made of mahogany can be wiped with a slightly dampened, damp soft cloth and wiped off with a linen cloth. It is recommended to use linseed oil for rubbing.
Products made from oak can be wiped with a damp piece of leather and polished with a wool cloth. For shine, the surfaces are rubbed with linseed oil. Walnut products are wiped with a cloth dipped in olive oil.
You can use proven recipes for preparing solutions for cleaning dirty areas:
- stir baby soap in 500 ml of water;
- mix 100 ml of vinegar and 50 ml of olive oil, spray the solution with a spray bottle;
- mix 50 ml of lemon juice and 50 ml of water;
- add 10 ml of ammonia to 60 ml of water, wiping the surface with a solution, you can remove the most complex dirt.
Rattan furniture care
Products made of exotic rattan are durable, beautiful and lightweight. The surface is protected from damage by a water-based varnish. Wicker furniture is often used in summer cottages and country houses. Optimal conditions of keeping, without the risk of deformation of the weaving, at temperatures ranging from +5 to + 40 ° C.
It is easy to take care of, following the recommendations of specialists:
- Remove dust once every two weeks. When placed outdoors, preferably weekly. A damp soft bristle brush or sponge should be used. Then the surface must be wiped dry. You can use a soft-bristled vacuum cleaner;
- To clean the dirt with a brush, moistening in a solution of sodium chloride. You can use a water solution with washing powder or soap for wiping. It is recommended to wipe heavily soiled surfaces with a swab moistened with ammonia alcohol;
- Do not use hard brushes, solvents, abrasive cleaning agents. They damage the protective lacquer coating and cause rattan cracking. When cracks appear, you can use drying oil, furniture varnish or stain to remove;
- Wash the surface once a year with soapy water (or powder);
- Avoid getting wet (do not leave in the rain). Do not use a wet chair until it dries (the weave may sag). Spilled liquid must be removed immediately with a dry cloth;
- Do not overdry. The rods under the sun's rays or near heating appliances will begin to exfoliate, crumbling. It is recommended to install furniture outdoors under a canopy, protecting it from the sun and rain.
How to care for genuine leather furniture
Leather is the perfect upholstery for a luxury sofa and armchair. The material is beautiful, durable, harmless, attractive. Products to preserve their splendor require careful maintenance.
Necessary:
- Lubricate the surface with protective agents twice a year. They must restore the elasticity of the material, prevent cracking, fragility and wear of the skin;
- You can remove spilled liquid with a sponge using gentle, smooth circular motions without much pressure. Do not use heating devices for drying. Grease stains do not need to be removed. They are absorbed and disappear quickly;
- Do not use solvents or alcohol for cleaning;
- Protect from mechanical and physical damage, sun rays.
Other furniture materials
