Installation of roller blinds without drilling
Roller blinds are becoming more and more popular due to the widespread installation of plastic windows. Valued for ease of use, minimal maintenance and affordable cost.
Is it possible to install roller blinds without drilling?
What are roller blinds
Let's start with the definitions. Roller blinds are a structure consisting of a special fabric and a movable holder shaft, with the help of which the curtain is moved and fixed.
The principle of operation is the same as in the case of Roman blinds. And the fastening system of many models does not provide for the use of self-tapping screws and window sash perforations.
One of the advantages of roller blinds is that they can be used both as a completely independent accessory and as a harmonious addition to ordinary curtains.
Thanks to these spectacular canvases, you can protect expensive curtains from fading and dust.
Well, and the fact that roll-up models can complement almost any interior - today there is no doubt, a rich assortment of textures and colors guarantees a worthy choice even for the most discerning consumer.
Colored and monochromatic, dense and not so - there is a model for everyone. Finally, the canvas can be translucent or reliably protected from the flow of sunlight.
Practical feature: The blades in the bindings can be changed. For example, in the summer you use denser fabrics, and in the winter, when there is little sunshine, lighter and transparent fabrics.
Also, some, depending on the season, prefer to change the colors: calm tones for spring and summer, and bright shades for gloomy autumn and winter. Thus, the roller blind ceases to be just an interior item and becomes a full-fledged decorative element that can cheer up and create a favorable atmosphere.
Another indisputable advantage is compactness. The roller blind is attached directly to the glass unit. And thanks to the close proximity to the glass, there is maximum protection from light and heat. Even in a room facing the sunny side, it never gets too hot with such curtains.
How to attach without drilling
Roller blinds that can be attached to a window opening without drilling can be of two types:
- Mini-jumps;
- Cassette.
The most affordable, and, apparently, that is why the most common are mini roller blinds. They are as easy to use as possible. Their feature is an open shaft and a canvas that stretches along the window opening.
And so that there is no sagging, small devices are used for fixing, magnets, for example. Cassette designs are also quite practical. When assembled, the canvas is reliably protected from dust and exposure to sunlight.
Such curtains retain their original appearance for a long time. Manufacturers today offer a wide range of box colors, so it is possible to choose a model that exactly suits your interior.
Cassette blinds are a practical addition to both fixed and opening windows. The design does not interfere with the movement of the flaps at all.
Installation features
Let's note the most common ways of attaching roller blinds to plastic windows without drilling:
- On hooks;
- On construction tape.
In the first case, the roller blind is fixed to the window with an adhesive strip. It is important to carefully choose the design, because if the model is of poor quality, then it can interfere with the opening and closing of the doors, or it can be constantly dismantled on its own, without your consent.
The second option is special tape. If it seems to you that such a fastening is not very reliable, then you can additionally use an adhesive composition. Important: before purchasing blinds, carefully measure the window.
If there are straight glazing beads in the plastic structure, then the curtain should occupy the entire distance from one to the other. If the opening is figured, then the size of the curtain is determined by the maximum size between the glazing beads. In any case, the dimensions should be measured to the millimeter, in no case do not round off!
This "simplification" will play a cruel joke with you during the installation process.
And one more tip: read the instructions carefully. There are sufficiently detailed recommendations for each product. Even if it seems to you that “everything is clear” and “it will not work out any other way,” do not rush to conclusions.
Plastic windows are an integral part of any interior. And in order to make their use as practical and convenient as possible, use roller blinds, attaching them to the window opening without drilling.
Then, if necessary, you can easily dismantle the structure and replace it with another one.
