Options for attaching roller blinds to plastic windows or to the wall
Recently, roller blinds are increasingly replacing the previously popular multi-layer window compositions. Today, blackout curtains, tulle and lambrequins are no longer relevant. People prefer a minimum of details, an abundance of light and open space when choosing roller blinds.
They differ in affordable cost, ease of maintenance and operation and can harmoniously fit into almost any interior. Therefore, we propose to figure out how to fix roller blinds.
Self-tapping screws
To do this, you need the following tools:
- drill;
- screwdriver;
- building level;
- screwdriver.
The installation instructions look like this:
- Determine the location of the fasteners. To do this, double-sided tape is glued to the back of the structure and applied to the frame in such a position in which the curtain will be fixed. All mounted elements are assembled on adhesive tape.
- Install the guides and secure the ends of the threads.
- Use a drill to drill the holes and screw in the screws.
- Mount the roll roller, place the roll with the cloth in the grooves and press until it clicks.
- Install tensioners. To do this, use a level to mark the place where they will be on the frame. Fasten the ends of the fishing line, drill holes by inserting self-tapping screws here.
- Check how the structure works.
Scotch tape
This option is the simplest of all considered. But, you can use it only when the roller blind is lightweight.
The surface of the blinds is degreased. If this is not done, the structure will not last long. The roller is glued to the base of the curtain.
The disadvantage of sticking to adhesive tape is its susceptibility to high temperatures. Therefore, if the window faces the sunny side, in summer the curtain may simply fall off due to the heat and melted glue.
How to properly install a roller blind on a plastic window using adhesive tape:
- Check that the frame is completely dry, clean and warm.
- Make a markup where the structure will be mounted.
- Carry out a high-quality degreasing of all surfaces to which the tape will be attached.
- Stick the tape on the fasteners.
- After removing the protection from the back of the tape, attach the product to the base.
- Insert clamps.
- Place the roller and canvas in place.
With spring bracket
Installation can only be carried out on an opening sash.
The installation algorithm is as follows:
- Assemble the curtain and attach it to the frame, marking the attachment points.
- At the marked points on the frame, hang the bracket.
- Secure the side bracket covers.
- Place the shaft with the fabric in the holder, making sure that the curtain is positioned correctly and can move in both directions without problem.
- For weighting, install the clamps and the limiter of the lower position.
With Velcro
The advantage of this mounting option is that the Velcro can be used to mount the curtain even in the absence of a cornice and avoiding drilling.
In addition, it is suitable for decorating a room in any style, is easy to install and maintain, and has a long service life.
Before attaching the roller blind to the window using Velcro, you need to determine the place where it will be placed.
Further:
- Cut out a strip of fabric. Its width will depend on the density of the curtain.
- Fold the strip in half and iron.
- Sew the Velcro to the top edge of the curtain.
- Bend the fabric and sew as close to the Velcro as possible.
- The right side of the fabric will be covered by the placket. It also needs to be secured with a seam.
- The hard side of the fastener is applied to the window frame and glued.
- The correctness of the blinds is checked.
Magnetic tape
This mounting option is only suitable for a small product. It can be installed both on the wall and directly on the window. To do this, the magnets are attached to the surface using a self-tapping screw or double-sided tape. At the same distance, they are placed on the curtain. Further, the roll structure is attached to the fasteners on the wall or frame.
There are many options for attaching a roller blind to a wall or window.
The choice depends on the type of construction, its weight, the availability of tools for installation, etc.
