How to carry shoes that are tight and chafing
Did you know that in the Middle Ages, shoemakers sewed boots according to the same pattern for the right and left legs? In those days, there was a special trampling profession. These people were paid by the nobles to get soft and comfortable boots. Now the owners of uncomfortable shoes, sandals, boots are forced to cope on their own.
There are various reasons why people buy uncomfortable shoes. Someone has an uncomfortable last, for example, a very wide or very narrow foot, someone was tempted to buy shoes one size smaller, because the shoes are too beautiful.
And there are times when the shoes seemed comfortable, but after a few hours of walking, the legs swell and it turns out that the shoes or sandals are rubbing the legs mercilessly. We know many ways to carry shoes and will share this information with you.
How to quickly carry shoes
All the answers to the question of how to distribute shoes come down to one thing - the material from which the top of the shoe is made must be moistened and gradually stretched. But they moisturize it with different compositions. To a large extent, the method of wearing depends on the material from which the shoes are made.
Genuine leather
Leather shoes need to be moistened with alcohol or vinegar from the inside, put on warm socks and walk like this for about 30 minutes. As a result, the skin will stretch, but the smell of alcohol or vinegar will remain. You can wait until it wears off, but you can also gently wipe your shoes with a damp sponge.
You can simply apply wet socks. They put shoes on their feet in such socks and wear them until the socks are dry. You can warm your feet in socks with a hair dryer. The warmth will make the skin more pliable.
It is strictly forbidden to direct the stream of a hair dryer onto shoes or boots made of genuine leather, the leather will become tough and prone to cracking.
Winter shoes can be stretched in the refrigerator. As a rule, we are talking about boots, boots. We do not recommend stretching, for example, shoes in this way - they have a more delicate skin on the upper, the glue is not designed for use in the cold season. Therefore, you can simply damage the shoes if you leave them in the freezer!
But boots or shoes can be taken apart if you put an airtight bag of water in them and put them in the refrigerator. Once frozen, the water will expand and stretch the shoes.
Shoes can be carried with cereals. You need to splash water into a bag with cereals and place it in your shoes overnight. The groats will absorb moisture and swell, stretching the skin.
There is an extreme method of breaking leather shoes - you need to pour boiling water over it from the inside for literally one second, and then put it on your feet in warm socks. But with this method you need to be careful, there is a high risk of damaging the shoes, if, for example, insufficiently good glue was used in production.
It must be remembered that there are special compounds for stretching shoes. They are designed by professionals and will not damage the expensive masterpieces of the shoe industry. They are intended in particular for stretching leather products.
PU leather
Artificial leather is nowhere near as strong as natural, and when stretched with great effort, it can crack and tear.
There are several methods that are acceptable for stretching such items:
- Lubricate leatherette shoes with Vaseline as generously as possible, put on a warm sock and walk around the apartment in shoes for about half an hour;
- Soak socks in cologne, put on your feet and wear;
- Place bags with moistened cereals in shoes;
- Fill the product with damp paper and leave overnight.
Suede shoes
Natural suede is the same leather! Therefore, you need to apply a similar approach to working with it. You can, of course, treat the suede with vinegar or alcohol before wearing it and put shoes or boots on a tight toe. But it is better to use a special foam that is applied to the inside of the shoe. Then you traditionally walk around your shoes in tight socks.
But some connoisseurs recommend moistening the inside of the suede with beer before wearing! True, they warn that you need to be careful with this method, the suede stretches very well and the shoes can become too big.
Lacquered shoes
Lacquerware is the most delicate. If you stretch them too diligently, the varnish film will crack and begin to roll. For this type of product, there are no special tools developed by the industry for wearing.
But you can try to walk in shoes, putting them on socks soaked with vodka. The procedure should last until the socks are dry. Be very, very careful not to crack the paint film.
Textile shoes
Textiles are stretched in a simple and proven way - boiling water is poured into shoes or sneakers from fabric for 1-2 seconds and then put on a leg with a toe to walk around the house for half an hour.
You can also take white paper, moisten it, and stuff it into textile shoes. But keep in mind - newspapers cannot be used for this purpose, they will dye the fabric.
Silicone boots or boots
You need to have two basins of water - in one the water should be cold, in the other - hot. First, boiling water is poured into the boots and steamed for 2-3 seconds. Then you need to wipe them dry, put them on a tight sock and immerse your shod feet in a basin of cold water.
How to wear shoes if they are a little small
The question is not formulated quite correctly. You need to think about how to carry tight shoes, because it is very difficult to endure constant pressure on your feet and is unhealthy.
Tight shoes not only rub the skin, but also deform the joints, and also provoke varicose veins. If the shoes cannot be carried, they can only be worn if you have to walk in them no further than from the door to the car.
Interestingly, Hollywood stars have long refused to suffer and suffer in tight shoes.Instead of thinking about how to distribute new shoes, they simply buy shoes one size larger and put silicone inserts into them so that they don't lose the shoes.
How to stretch only some parts
If you need to stretch specific places, for example, the shoes are rubbing the little finger, it is worth stretching the shoes pointwise, for this they usually use a bag with a wet, cool, fixed in the right place.
How to carry if the shoes are narrow
All the described techniques relate more to spreading in breadth. It is much easier to do this since no special equipment is needed.
How to use special stretch marks
Special stretches are applied to make the shoes stretch in length. Remember that you will not be able to enlarge the shoe by more than one size. And lacquered products cannot be stretched even by size.
The use of spacers will be appreciated by those with an unusually long big toe. There are special stretchers. They are used in combination with formulations designed to stretch this type of shoe.
The product is treated with a softening agent, spacers are inserted and left for 8-10 hours. Stretching may take 2-3 treatments. Lacquered products are unlikely to be pulled out. They deteriorate very easily.
How not to damage your shoes
The desire to stretch the shoe, because it is a very beautiful model, should not lead to a loss of adequacy.
Follow these simple rules:
- Lacquered shoes must be carefully softened, but very carefully stretched;
- Suede is not friendly with water and is afraid of drying in a warm place;
- Summer and demi-season shoes are painful for stretching in the freezer. Before removing the block of ice from the boots, let it thaw. Otherwise, it will be extremely inconvenient to pull it out.
And to avoid having to wear out your shoes or sandals, use a simple tip and buy whatever you want to wear in the afternoon when your feet are swollen and bigger. This will make it easier for you to find a pair that won't rub your calluses.
