How to make a carnation from napkins with your own hands
Before starting work, it is necessary to collect materials and tools. What to cook:
- Colored plain napkins (red, pink, orange, yellow, white, etc.).
- Scissors.
- Compass (can be replaced with a stencil or cap).
- Large stapler (regular or construction) or a needle and thread.
- Wooden sticks.
- Green paper or paint.
- Glue.
It is worth freeing up space on the table, laying out all the items and then you can start making flowers. How to make napkin carnations:
- Place several napkins on top of each other. The amount depends on the desired splendor of the bud. Optimally 3-4 napkins.
- Draw a circle with a compass or trace a stencil or lid with a pencil on a napkin.
- Cut the napkin along the contour so that you get an even circle and the edges are nowhere stuck together.
- In the center of the mug, fasten the napkins with a stapler or sew with a thread.
- Wrap the first layer of the bud inward, crushing the napkin with your fingers.
- Repeat these steps with all layers, without crushing the edges equally, so that the flower looks more natural.
Note! After the circle has been cut and the napkins are stapled, you can optionally make short vertical cuts from the edges to the center. Then the flower will be more magnificent.
When the bud is ready, you can start making the stem. It is enough to paint the stick with green paint or stick it with paper. With the help of glue, it is necessary to connect the bud and stem. You can add green petals by cutting them out of paper.
A do-it-yourself napkin carnation is created in more than one way, there is a second. Everything needs to be done in stages:
- Cut a strip from the edge of the napkin.
- Fold the napkin into an accordion.
- Rewind in the middle with a cut strip.
- Make sharp edges of the resulting "butterfly" by cutting off the excess with scissors.
- Open the petals one by one, lifting them up to the center.
Such a carnation will look neat and elegant, so it is better not to plant it on the stem, but to attach it to a postcard or other colored background.
What else can you make a carnation from?
Carnation is a popular flower in applique and children's crafts. Its production takes a little time, but the flower turns out to be spectacular. In addition to napkins, which are always at hand, you can use other materials.
Corrugated paper
To create a carnation, corrugated paper of red and green colors, thick thread, scissors and wire are useful. Step-by-step manufacturing instructions:
- Take red corrugated paper 7-10 cm wide and 30-40 cm long.
- Roll the paper into a tube (widthwise).
- Tie in the middle with a thick thread.
- Cut one of the parts of the bud diagonally from the bottom to the center to make a bevel.
- Insert the wire into the bevel.
- Rewind the bevel and stem with green corrugated paper.
- Fluff the bud that remains in sight with your fingers, moving the edges down.
Due to the very structure of the paper, the edges of the carnations will be uneven, which will allow you to immediately identify the flower.
From paper
Making a carnation from napkins with your own hands with step-by-step instructions is not difficult. It is more difficult to make it from more durable materials. The paper carnation takes longer, but also has a pleasant appearance. What do we have to do:
- Fold a sheet of paper until you get a small square.
- Make a triangle out of it.
- Bend a right corner to the opposite edge to make a small triangle.
- Cut off the tip at the bottom so that there is room for the stem.
- Cut off the top in a semicircle, then make uneven cuts in the form of triangles.
- Open the blank, repeat the steps with several sheets.
- In the course of stringing circles, it is worth bending the petals up.
- Take a stick and string several layers of paper on it. Add a drop of glue between each layer.
- Decorate the stem with green leaves.
Important! To prevent the bud from dropping down, the first circle should be firmly glued to the stem. You can even use a piece of colored plasticine underneath as a stopper.
Satin ribbon
Getting a flower product from satin is a little more difficult, because for this you have to work with a burner or a lighter. The first option is easier as it will take less time. It is better for a master to supervise the work, as an inexperienced person or child may burn themselves.
Instructions:
- Using a burner, make petals from the pieces of tape. Give them an uneven shape at the top.
- Pinch the bottom of the petal with tweezers or tweezers and cut off a piece.
- Burn the tip of the petal.
- Fold the petal in half and use a lighter to burn the bottom. Literally 1.5-2 cm if the petal is 5-6 cm in length.
- Do similar manipulations with about 25-30 pieces of atlas.
- Take a stick or wire pre-wrapped with paper or cloth (this is the stem).
- Apply a drop of glue to the tip of the stick and glue 5 petals in a circle with the curved side inward.
- Make a few more circles, turning the petals with the folded side out.
- Stop as soon as the desired flower volume is obtained.
The most beautiful flowers from satin are white, scarlet or burgundy. If the decoration does not require believability, then blue, purple and blue carnations will look original and elegant.
Important! When creating a satin flower, you need to follow the petals, stick them strictly on top of each other in a circle. Otherwise, one side may turn out to be more voluminous than the other, which will ruin the appearance.
From felt
For felt carnations, you will need fabric, a needle and thread, green chenille wire, scissors and paper stencils. Algorithm of actions:
- Make a paper circle about 6-7 cm in diameter. Cut the star out of the paper slightly smaller than the circle.
- Stencil cut out a circle of red felt and a sepal of green.
- In the center of the circle, draw a circle 2 cm in diameter with a pencil or marker.
- Sew along this line with a thread "forward" so that it looks down the intended bud.
- Insert the wire into the middle of the circle, first bending it at the edge so that it does not fall out.
- Tighten the thread on the red felt and wrap in a circle, pressing the bud.
- Also sew the sepal and pull it from below on the wire under the bud.
- Tighten the thread and secure it exactly under the red felt.
Additionally, shorter chenille sticks with curved edges can be tied to the stem to create a semblance of leaves.
Features of the use of homemade cloves
Homemade crafts in the form of a carnation can be:
- Attach to a postcard.
- Dot over a sheet of cardboard or other canvas.
- Collect in a bouquet.
- Sew on fabric.
Cloves made from napkins and other materials look interesting. They are able to decorate any craft and even replace a purchased bouquet of artificial flowers.
How to make other flowers from napkins
Napkins are a versatile tool for children's crafts and applique decoration, table and room decoration. With the help of available tools, you can quickly create flowers of unimaginable beauty of all sizes, types and colors.
the Rose
To create one rose, you need a bright-colored napkin, which must be fully expanded, and then:
- Fold down one edge by about 2 cm.
- Start rolling the napkin across this edge (you can use a pencil).
- To reach the end, slightly release the napkin.
- Step back 4-5 cm from the folded edge and press with your finger.
- Wrap everything below the finger into a tight tube - the stem.
- Stretch the top slightly to the sides to add volume.
Important information! If the stem is not twisted tightly, the rose will bloom.
Tulip
For a tulip, you need a wooden stick, a green napkin, scissors, glue, a pencil, a pink napkin.
- Make blank petals from pink (10 pieces).
- Twist the edges of the petal slightly onto the pencil.
- Wrap the stick with a green napkin and glue it around the edges.
- Drop glue on the end of the stem and press the petals in turn with the turned edge outward.
To make the tulip look more natural, you can make 4-5 long-stemmed petals from a green napkin and glue them to the stem at the base of the bud.
Lotus
Lotus is a difficult flower to make, it will take a lot of material. We need light napkins - the base, and bright ones - the bud. Actions:
- Fold a square light napkin in half in the form of a triangle.
- Visually mark the middle on the long side. Bend the napkins to this point (they will protrude downward).
- Fold back the protruding pieces.
- Fold the triangle in half (folded pieces inside).
- Make ten pieces of blanks.
- Sew the ends of each base with a thread and a needle, first inside, and then with each other to make a circle of protruding napkins.
- Make a lot of "boats" out of a bright napkin by analogy with the base.
- Now you need to insert the napkins into the base.
- Carefully put on a bright "boat" on a light one, where the joint of two napkins.
- Repeat the steps in a circle.
- Make a few more circles higher, the number of napkins will decrease.
- At the very end, you need to insert napkins with the corners up.
Attention! For convenience, it is better to use the back of a fork or spoon to put the boats on top of each other.
Dandelion
Dandelion making is similar to carnation. A stack of napkins is folded, fastened in the middle and a circle is cut out. The edges are cut with scissors almost to the middle, then everything is fluffed with your fingers. The main difference is that in a dandelion you can do everything more chaotic and more carelessly.
Poppy
Napkin poppy is made in the same way as a tulip. You just need to cut out wider petals with several notches along the edges. It is enough to make 2-3 layers of petals, and decorate the center with black paper. The black circle should be cut from the edges towards the center. Poppies do not look good on the stem, but on paper.
Pion
The most lush flower from the available table materials is a peony. Plus, even standard white, light pink or pale yellow napkins look great here. How to proceed:
- Take four napkins, with each carry out the same manipulations.
- Fold the napkin into a small square.
- Fold it into a triangle.
- Round off the wide edge with scissors.
- Expand the napkin to its original state.
- Put all four napkins unfolded on top of each other.
- Gently lift the petals up, and from below, hook the peonies with a stapler.
- Fluff the petals.
Additional Information! Peonies made of two flowers look creative. This requires two yellow napkins, two pink napkins (or other colors). They are laid one by one.
Lily
Lily is made just like a lotus, but you don't have to go all the way. It is enough to make 3-4 circles after the base and the flower is ready. For lilies, napkins of yellow and pale blue are suitable, and it is better to make the base white. This will make it easier to tell the lily from the brighter lotus.
chamomile
To make chamomile, you will need white two-layer napkins (sold in boxes and pulled out one by one), cotton wool, an ordinary thick yellow napkin, a thread with a needle. Algorithm of actions:
- Fold the white napkin in half to make a rectangle.
- Pinch in the middle with your fingers and scroll three times.
- Roll the resulting butterfly wings towards each other.
- Turn the convex side towards you.
- Gather up the wide end and twist tightly.
- Do this with 9 petals.
- Take the yellow square napkin. Put a large cotton ball in the center.
- Lift the ends up and twist so that the cotton wool is a circle on the leg.
- Sew the petals to the yolk in a circle with the convex side up.
If the yellow napkin was large, and there is a long tight end, then you can insert it into a green straw tube. This will give the chamomile a stem.
How to make big flowers
Large colors are time consuming to create. But how beautiful they look in the form of a photo zone or decoration in the room. Most often, large flowers are made from paper. It is recommended to take not ordinary, but sealed for printing. Then the flowers will hold on better. Here you will have to make blanks for each petal separately.
Each layer should be smaller than the petals. Therefore, it is advisable to make stencils. 7 large, 6 medium, 5 smaller, 4 small and 3 very tiny. It is better to make each petal with an uneven edge, then the visually the flower will seem more voluminous and more believable. You can fasten the petals together with PVA glue or building glue (this is faster).
Advice! In order for the sheets to easily lay on top of each other at the center, a small incision should be made on each. The two parts of the cut must be glued together and then the petal will immediately begin to look up, plus it is more convenient to work with it.
When all the layers are ready, it remains to make the middle. To do this, you can make 4-5 very tiny petals and wrap them not outward, like the rest of the leaves, but inward. Now the flower is ready and you can decorate a photo zone with it or glue it onto a growth figure.
With paper flowers, any holiday will become brighter. In some cases, to make beauty, it is enough to take a napkin and scissors, which are always nearby. After 5 minutes, the flower will be colorful, and the eye will rejoice.
