DIY pencil holder
Despite the fact that the 21st century is outside the window, and everything is subject to software technologies, sooner or later the question arises: how to store pens and pencils? This problem is especially acute in families with schoolchildren. Is it possible to make a do-it-yourself pencil holder?
Varieties
Immediately, we note that this accessory cannot be called mandatory and irreplaceable, but many note the practicality of using pencil holders on the desktop. Of course, you can go to a stationery store and buy a ready-made model. However, in order to save money, as well as for the accessory to fully satisfy your own wishes, it is better to make it yourself. Moreover, this does not take much time and effort.
Stand of newspaper tubes
The technology of weaving from newspaper tubes appeared relatively recently, but has already gained wide popularity.
To work you will need:
- Newspapers.
- Scissors.
- Glue.
- Cardboard.
- Varnish or paint (choose whichever you like best).
The first and most important step in the job is making the newspaper tubes.
- To do this, you need to take a regular knitting needle, put it on the corner of a newspaper sheet, and start winding the newspaper diagonally around the knitting needle.
- Having reached the opposite corner, the edge is greased with glue and pressed so that the tube does not unwind.
For work, you can use ordinary newspapers, or you can use the pages of glossy magazines. In the latter case, the resulting pencil holder may not even be painted, since an unusually bright, eye-pleasing model is obtained.
After you have wound a sufficient number of tubes, you can get to work. There are two technologies for working with such material:
- Newspaper tubes are pasted over any base (glass, juice box, cut off plastic bottle).
- Newspaper tubes are intertwined like twigs.
As a result of weaving, very beautiful models are obtained. You can not be limited only to the usual rectangular shape, and also not dwell on one pencil holder. Craftsmen create whole organizers from containers of different heights and volumes for all kinds of stationery. An important nuance: products of a more complex shape cannot be made without drawings and calculations.
After the stand is ready, it is covered with glue and then painted.
Paper pencil holder
This model is even more economical. To create one, you will need a toilet paper or paper towel roll, as well as colored paper, scissors, and glue.
First, we measure the height and diameter of the sleeve, and then cut the colored paper to size. We glue the sleeves with paper and glue them on the base - a sheet of thick cardboard. If desired, decorate the received organizer with appliques or beads.
Phone book stand
If in your house there is such a rare thing as a thick telephone directory, do not rush to throw it away, believe me, you can create an unusual pencil holder from it with your own hands.
You will need:
- Directory.
- Scissors.
- Glue.
- Paper towel sleeve.
- Paints.
Prerequisite: the reference book must be paperback.
- Divide the catalog pages into five parts, and wrap each part around a sleeve.
- Record the result.
- After that, each segment can be cut to a certain height, so that the result is a kind of ladder.
- Make a bottom for the structure out of cardboard or thin plastic.
- Paint the "petals" of the pencil holder with paint.
Gold stand
For this stylish design, you need tin cans or metal cases of different diameters and heights. For the base, you can use a metal or wood plate, in some cases a plastic base is used.
- The cans are cut to the desired height (if necessary) and fixed to the base with glue.
- The finished structure is covered with gold paint.
As a result, you get a very stylish accessory that you are not ashamed to put in your office.
Tumbler stand
Another unusual version of the pencil holder, thanks to which you can not only rationally use the available space on the desk, but also bring positive notes to the interior.
This stand is made from a beverage can. You will also need some lead (about 80 grams).
- The metal is melted and poured into the jar from the outside.
- After the lead has frozen, it is taken out and attached to the bottom of the can, with the convex side outward.
Due to the heavy semicircular base, such a pencil holder resembles a tumbler toy. The jar can be decorated in any way you like: paint it, stick appliques, crochet it or wrap it with a piece of wallpaper.
As you can see, the stationery stand can be made independently. With minimal financial costs, you get a stylish and functional accessory that is unique in its kind.
