Why the washing machine does not spin and what to do at the same time
Today, a washing machine is not a luxury, but a necessity. With its appearance, life really becomes easier and more comfortable. But this comfort has another side: as soon as something happens to the machine (for example, it stops squeezing), it begins to seem that nothing worse can happen. Although, even the fair sex will be able to cope with some "breakdowns".
Operational errors
So what if the washing machine doesn't wring it out? First of all, carefully read the instructions for your home "helper". Remember that spinning is the final phase of the wash, but not every program has it. In some cases, it is carried out partially (at very low speeds), and in some it is completely absent. In the latter case, water is drained from the machine and the laundry remains wet.
Therefore, if, after opening the car door, you find that the laundry is very, very wet, do not rush to panic and call the master. Perhaps it's all about the settings. There are a number of programs that do not involve a serious spin:
- Sensitive;
- Delicate;
- Berezhnaya;
- Washing delicate linen;
- Silk;
- Wool and others.
Or maybe you can install and remove the spin mode in your washing machine yourself? And just someone from the household accidentally pressed a button or turned a switch? Be sure to check this point too. And if so, just reset the regulator on the control panel to the "spin" function and restart the technique.
If, after checking the programs and settings, you are convinced that the problem is different, there are a couple more options. For example, the imbalance of the washing machine (when the laundry gets knotted), or the load is exceeded by weight. Some models will immediately inform you about both imbalance and overload by showing the error number on the display. Other machines simply stop working and leave the laundry without spinning.
Important! Imbalance and overloading are very dangerous for a washing machine. Therefore, in order to avoid more serious problems, it simply stops work without the last operation.
To eliminate the imbalance, the machine is stopped and the contents are evenly distributed over the drum. And in case of overload, they simply remove part of the laundry for subsequent washing.
Water drainage problems
If, having opened the machine, you find not just wet laundry, but "floating" in a large amount of water, then the problem is more serious than those mentioned above. The water drain system may be faulty.
- Or the drain system is clogged: drain filter, hose, pipe.
- Either the system is faulty (as a whole or some separate element).
If the drain filter is clogged, then we can safely say that you are in luck. The simplest steps will be required. By the way, it is recommended to prophylactically clean the filter in order to prevent serious clogging. If the problem is in the hose going down the drain, it will be more difficult to solve it. Well, in order to clean the pipe, the machine will have to be disassembled.
It should be noted that the pump often breaks down and needs to be replaced. If such a fate befell your unit, contact a specialist.
When you need a professional
Only a professional master will help you eliminate the following reasons for the lack of spin. Therefore, if you are not, it is better not to try to find and solve the problem by "typing". Entrust the diagnostics to specialists. Believe me, on your own you will only make things worse.
- The tubular heating element is out of order. Usually, poor quality tap water leads to such a malfunction. During the washing process, the water does not heat up to the set temperature and the operation stops automatically. A multimeter is required to check the condition of the heating element.
- Defective pressure switch (or water level sensor). One of the functions of the pressure switch is to give a signal to the control unit about the water level in the washing machine. If the sensor is broken, then the module does not receive information about the lack of water and the spin function does not become active. In this case, the defective part should be replaced with a new one.
- Broken engine. The collector brushes worn out during operation or faults in the winding cause the motor to malfunction. You can assess the condition of the motor yourself. To do this, you need to disassemble the case, get to the part and check the condition of the winding, how complete it is. Next, you need to look at the graphite brushes. Their size should not be less than 0.5 cm. If the brushes are less than 0.5 cm, they need to be changed.
- Malfunction of the speed control sensor (the so-called tachometer). In fairness, it should be noted that this is one of the rarest breakdowns, but it does occur. Sometimes the problem is related to the weakening of contacts. But if the sensor is still defective, it will have to be completely replaced.
- Problems with the electronic module. This essential element of the washing machine is responsible for the operation of all programs. If the diagnostics did not reveal any of the above problems, most likely it is the electronic module that is faulty. And in this case, you will definitely not be able to fix the problem on your own, because you will need either a flashing or replacement of the module. So, do not risk it, immediately contact the specialists.
Preventive actions
In many ways, the duration of operation of the washing machine depends on the observance of the instructions and the implementation of preventive measures.Believe me, any prophylaxis will cost you much less than even the most insignificant repairs, so take the trouble to "look after" your assistant.
- Always follow the recommendations for the amount of laundry to be loaded exactly. This is the very case when the beloved by many "maybe" will cost very dearly.
- Check the contents of your pockets carefully. Any small thing that falls out during the washing process can cause clogging, and, as a result, breakage.
- Do not overuse washing powder. In this case, the saying, the more the better, will have just the opposite effect. Excess detergent can damage the pressure switch.
- Thoroughly rinse the powder tray after each wash, regardless of which mode you wash. Believe me, even such a trifle will help extend the life of your car.
- When the washing machine is at rest, the drum must be dry. Be sure to keep an eye out for this! After each unloading of the laundry, leave the door of the unit open for 2 - 3 hours, this is quite enough for the drum to dry completely.
- Check the mains voltage. Automatic washing machines are very capricious ladies. Any power surge can cause serious damage. To prevent this from happening, it is recommended to install electric current stabilizers. While it will cost you a bit, remember that it will cost you more to repair your car anyway.
Important! If your machine has stopped performing the spin function, and you have no idea about the reason for this work, it is better not to waste time on self-diagnosis. Contact a specialist immediately. Experience shows that this saves not only time, but also money. Indeed, in the process of searching, you can damage something. And the electronics, which they tried to repair, are no longer subject to warranty repair. And this rule applies to any brand of washing machine.
So, the reasons for the lack of spin can be different. And the fact that this problem is solvable is encouraging. By contacting a specialist in time, you can bring your washing machine back to life.
