How can and how to properly wash brilliant green from linoleum
Zelenka is still a popular drug. But, if the composition gets past a wound or cut, this is a disaster. Most of us are convinced that the spilled “brilliant green” is an excuse to give up our favorite things. How and with what can you wipe brilliant green from linoleum, clothing or leather?
What is brilliant green and what is the reason for its persistence
Medicinal solution for disinfection (brilliant green) is distinguished by a bright green color. For many, this is the best way to deal with chickenpox. Zelenka penetrates deep into the epidermis. Persistent aniline dyes, which are an integral part of the brilliant green, make the solution difficult to remove.
How to wipe off the skin
Immediately, we note that wiping the brilliant green from the skin is the simplest task. The main thing is to know what to use for this "operation". Most often, unwanted green spots on the skin appear as a result of careless opening of the bottle, as well as when brilliant green gets not only on the cut, but also abundantly around it. The substance is more difficult to wash if at least a few minutes have passed and it has managed to penetrate the epidermis, moreover, the brilliant green does not lend itself to the action of simple water. But the situation is not hopeless.
- Laundry soap. This is one of the most effective means in the fight against brilliant green. The only caveat: it cannot be used for mucous membranes. And in order to remove the brilliant green from the skin, the soiled area is lathered and left for a few minutes. After that, wash off with a sponge.
- Scrub. This tool will cope with both new and already old stains of brilliant green. The main thing is not to use it on delicate areas of the skin, as irritation may appear. Also, the scrub is not recommended for very dry and sensitive skin. If you don't have a cosmetic scrub on hand, make it yourself. To do this, mix in a 1: 2 ratio of shaving foam and fine table salt. Apply the mixture to the stained area and massage for 2 minutes, and then rinse with water.
- Wet wipes. Fresh, just "put" stains from brilliant green can be easily removed with wet wipes with the addition of alcohol. They can also be used for cleaning office equipment. The main thing is not to use for mucous membranes.
- Fatty cream or vegetable oil. Excellent and well-known means for removing dirt (by the way, not only green stains). A cream is applied to the contaminated area and left for a while. After the leftovers are removed with a damp cloth.
- Makeup remover. But such compositions will allow you to remove brilliant green even from sensitive skin. The main thing is to choose a tool for removing persistent make-up and then brilliant green is exactly on his shoulder. The agent is applied to a cotton pad and applied to the contaminated area, held for several minutes, then rubbed a little and rinsed off the remnants with water.
- Pharmacy products. The most popular pharmacy products are alcohol and hydrogen peroxide. Substances are applied to a cotton pad and applied to the contaminated area, kept for several minutes, and then washed off with water. The hydrogen peroxide procedure will have to be repeated several more times, and alcohol usually does the job the first time.
- Household chemicals will also come to the rescue in the fight against green stains. For example, toothpaste is considered the old and tried-and-true method. A little paste is applied to the contaminated area and cleaned with a brush or sponge. After some time, the procedure must be repeated. Whitening toothpaste "works" most effectively. And in order to remove brilliant green with baking soda, make a soda mixture (water and soda in equal proportions), apply to the contaminated area of the skin and massage for several minutes. After that, the rest of the mixture is removed, and the place is washed with water.
- Natural remedies. Wherever folk methods are not applied ?! And in the fight against brilliant green they are also very effective. For example, lemon is used to remove various stains, and brilliant green is no exception.
- A slice of lemon should be placed on the contaminated area. If the stain is ingrained, you will have to rub it a little.
- It turns out that the duet "alcohol + lemon" in the fight against brilliant green works much more worthy than each remedy separately. You need to mix lemon juice with alcohol in a 1: 5 ratio. Apply the resulting mixture to a cotton swab and wipe the contaminated area until the stain completely disappears. After the procedure, it is recommended to wash your hands well and lubricate the cleansed area with baby cream.
- The distant "relative" of lemon on the "acid" line - sorrel - will also provide the necessary assistance in the fight against stains. A couple of large leaves must be crushed until a gruel is obtained and applied to the skin. Leave it on for a few minutes and then rinse with warm water. The main advantage of using sorrel is the gentle removal of stains.
How to remove brilliant green from hair and nails
This task is somewhat more difficult than removing green stains from the skin. For example, the hair is very quickly saturated with the dye composition, and in order to have the effect of the cleansing procedure, it must be repeated for several days in a row. In particular, a mixture of shampoo and soap suds (lather from laundry soap) is popular. To do this, wash your hair with ordinary shampoo and apply a thick (as far as possible) lather from laundry soap. And after that, be sure to use a rinse aid.
Vegetable oil for removing brilliant green from hair is no less effective than for removing brilliant green from the skin. For several days, you need to make masks: apply oil to the hair and keep for 20 minutes. After that, rinse well.
Nail polish remover. You can also use acetone, but the special liquid has a more gentle composition. The agent is applied to cotton wool and applied to the dirt. After the stain has disappeared, the area is washed well with soap or shampoo.
Lemon juice and vodka is another know-how that gives a decent result. Both liquids are taken in equal volumes, mixed in a glass container and dipped into the hand for 5-10 minutes.Such a "duet" is also used to remove brilliant green from hair.
Another remedy for removing green stains from hair is warm kefir. You will need about 50 ml of kefir heated in a water bath. Hair is first moistened with water, and then warm kefir is applied for 20 minutes, and then washed off with warm water. This mask has not only a cleansing, but also a strengthening effect on the roots.
We remove brilliant green from clothes
An important point, earlier, brilliant green was used to dye clothes, since the composition is durable. Therefore, it will not be possible to simply wipe off green stains with powder. Consider the type and color of the fabric when removing the stain.
To remove brilliant green from a white cloth, you can use the following methods:
- Soak the stained item in bleach for 2-4 hours (read the instructions for the bleach carefully).
- Treat the contaminated area with hydrogen peroxide and leave for 1.5 hours.
- Apply a chlorine agent (for example, Domestos) to the area of contamination for 5-10 minutes.
- Use a 1: 1 solution of rubbing alcohol and lemon juice.
For colored fabrics, the following options are suitable:
- Apply vinegar and leave for 2 hours.
- Treat the green stain with vegetable oil, and after 5 hours wash the item using a strong dish detergent.
If the stain is "planted" on woolen or silk fabric - do not experiment. Buy special stain removers. Otherwise, you run the risk of hopelessly spoiling the thing.
How to remove stains from linoleum, leather and wood surfaces
Perhaps these are the most difficult tasks, since brilliant green is well absorbed into porous surfaces. And the question: how to wipe brilliant green from linoleum is very acute.
If you have just spilled brilliant green on linoleum, then the primary task is to collect the liquid as soon as possible and not allow it to be absorbed. You can remove brilliant greens with old rags, paper napkins, or table salt. In the latter case, salt is poured onto the stain so that there is a small pile. Leave for a few minutes until completely absorbed and sweep away with a broom and a scoop. And the remains are collected with a napkin (cloth).
To remove the stain itself, use one of the following methods:
- Hydrogen peroxide. Wet a terry cloth abundantly, and, without squeezing, put on the stain. Leave on for 10-15 minutes. The procedure may need to be repeated several times. The peroxide will simply discolor the greens. Perhaps this is the most common way to remove green stains from linoleum.
- Acetone (or nail polish remover). This is, rather, a radical measure, and it is worth resorting to it only as a last resort, since the use of these compounds will lead to a change in the color of the linoleum.
- Alcoholic solution of camphor. First, we wash the stain with soapy water, and then we treat the area with a cotton pad dipped in an alcohol solution of camphor. It is recommended to change the cotton wool as the brilliant green is absorbed.
- Washing powder for an automatic machine. The powder is mixed with water until a pasty mixture is obtained, applied to the stain and covered with a plastic bag. Leave for 8 hours. Then remove the remnants of the mixture and wipe the entire linoleum with soapy water.
The easiest and most effective option for leather furniture is alcohol-based wipes. Only stains need to be treated two or three times. You can also use a dry stain remover for colored fabrics (Vanish). Add enough water so that the consistency of the mixture is similar to sour cream. Apply it on the dirty surface and leave it on for 3-5 minutes. Then remove the gruel, and wipe the surface with a napkin.
Even if it so happened that you spilled brilliant green on linoleum, leather furniture or light-colored clothes, do not despair. Today there are many ways to return things to their original appearance. And you always have a choice: buy a ready-made stain remover, or give preference to folk remedies.
